I’m interested in the juxtaposition of man-made and nature, and of feeling my way through the lines of road markings, bright orange barriers, telegraph poles and pylons within the huge space that comes from hills, water and sky. Recently I've been particularly interested in the Wiltshire landscape around us.
I use a mixture of drawing and painting, using the mark-making that comes from using pencil, charcoal and crayon coupled with the colour and flow of ink, paint, layers and rubbing back to bare surface.
My studio is part of White Horse Arts at Parnella House, a new collective of artists who have set up studios in the heart of Devizes in a listed building in the Market Place.
