Diana Neale
The term “mixed media” probably best describes my work over the last two years. Whilst continuing to create photoart, the opportunities for camera work have been limited. Consequently, the balance between photoart and painting in my studio has shifted towards painting (oils and acrylics), collage and monoprints.
The paintings include fairly traditional seascapes and landscapes, abstract compositions and a series of abstract views of Salisbury Plain. A few of these are shown above.
The collages are for the most part mixed media on stretched canvas, textured and colourful, images full of mysterious, symbolic significance.
My photoart crosses the boundary between photography and conventional art, blending images, sometimes with watercolour washes, to create multi-layered, textured prints on fine art paper.
The Garden Studio is at the bottom of my garden, with long views of Salisbury Plain. In 2019 I expanded the garden into the adjacent field to create a 300 square metre wildlife garden area. It will take a few years to mature, but by July there should be plenty of cornflowers and oxeye daisies in flower and some surprises too, I hope.
I haven’t exhibited with MOS for two years, so in addition to three MOS weekends, I hope to be open on the 8th, 9th, and 16th July from 11-6 and by appointment on other weekdays. However, I may be called away on family business, so CALL 07968 347832 to check I'm here. I'll definitely be here on the three weekends, as advertised.
On 17th July I shall be demonstrating how to make unique collage papers from 2-5pm, with refreshments (soft drinks). Limited numbers, so please let me know, by email or phone call, if you would like to come, so I can book you in.
Finally, I shall be holding a stockroom sale on Sunday 25th (including "make me an offer" on marked items).
I’m very excited to be able to welcome you to the studio this year. I do hope you’ll be able to stop by.
