Arty Pumpkin
In the dim and distant past Arty, then known as Chrys, studied Graphics at Camberwell College of Art. Having fulfilled her earning a living and childrearing responsibilities, she returned to her love of drawing, especially life drawing. Over the past few years she has begun to explore a variety of media; pencil, pastel, paint, print and has found a use for some wooden letterpress blocks acquired many moons ago.
Her work combines words, heard or read - from the radio, papers, books, poems, people’s mouths, with the images, exploring the interaction of words and images. More scribbling in sketchbooks and now doing more landscapes.
This is Arty's seventh year exhibiting in Kim Pethybridge's sitting room, in Wroughton in the shadow of Barbury Castle but if you'd like to see her studio, (which is in Newbury ........ ) and can put up with Chocolate Labradors (there are 2 of them) please get in touch.
