Nigel Hudson

I am a regular exhibitor of Marlborough Open Studios and a member of the MOS Committee. This year I have taken time out to concentrate on developing new ideas and engaging with a new approach to image making. I have been a professional photographer since the late seventies and have worked for a wide variety of clients all over the globe. When Covid arrived, I could no longer work and I spent many hours looking at a new way to express myself through my personal photography. I did a lot of walking throughout the Covid period and started to develop a more artistic method, not unlike a painter in my approach. Most of the source elements for my work are shot whilst walking. I collect textures, tones and details and then fuse them together later in my studio using digital software. This new way of working has taken me on a voyage of discovery and has led me into areas that I never imagined I would visit. As an Associate artist this year, I am not exhibiting formally, but you are most welcome to pop in and I would be delighted to offer you hospitality and a chat. My studio is situated two miles north of Great Bedwyn on the road leading to the M4. One Hundred yards on the right after the left turn to Durley and Burbage. If you are travelling on the A4, take the turning south signposted to Bedwyn, Crofton Beam Engines and Imagine Studios. Turn right at the first crossroads and we are situated one hundred yards on the left, at the end of the open field to your left.
