Lisi Ashbridge
Letter-cut sculptural carvings for home, garden and memorials both in wood and in stone. Each piece is designed by hand and cut with a chisel and mallet in the old traditional British craft way.
In addition, Lisi has an keen interest in abstract writing. Here the shapes are not characters as we expect. It is down to the viewer to interpret what they want to ‘read’, just like an abstract work of art. It removes the differences between languages, writing systems, the reader’s culture, background and their intellectual ability. We are all the same!
