Suzanne Jacobs

I work mainly with soft pastels, loving the vibrancy and immediacy of this medium. I enjoy experimenting, trying different paper surfaces, methods and subjects but tend to focus on capturing the colour and atmosphere of landscape and still life. I sometimes work ‘en plein air’ but mostly in the studio. I return home with a head full of ideas and lots of photos to use as references from which which I hope to capture the beauty and feeling of the place. I am lucky to have an old stable out-building which I can use as a studio and workshop. I am really looking forward to welcoming visitors in my first year of Marlborough Open Studios!

Take A342 from Devizes to Rowde, turn left after Rowde Primary School, opposite turning for Manor Farm Lane. From Bromham, after the Springfield Road turning, look for small right turn just before a triangle school sign (for Rowde Primary School). There is parking for several cars in the driveway. Otherwise, park on the street in Springfield Road, which is a few minutes walk away.
