Meriel Balston
Meriel paints in oils, mainly using palette knives - and the always useful fingers! She continues to paint landscapes, including the Marlborough Downs which surround her, and is particularly interested in the building up of colour and texture. Visitors are welcome to explore the every-changing garden at Maslens Farm which has inspired her to show some smaller more abstract works for MOS of the flowers and colours found within it. Meriel will be sharing the Studio with the glass artist Belinda Harding.
Special event: July 16, 5-6pm - Late opening and Garden Walk between this Studio and Studio 25, also in the village. Refreshments and fabulous gardens. Landscape designer Michael Balston will be in the garden at Maslens to answer any questions, and Belinda Harding will also be available to explain the process of glass making.

Take the A4 west from Marlborough. After 2 miles turn left to Lockeridge and over the Downs to Alton Barnes. Go over the staggered crossroads, continue for 50 yards and turn left down the first track. The entrance to Maslens Farm is straight ahead, through grey gates, next to the White Horse Livery.
