Kim Pethybridge

Kim discovered stone carving purely by chance 17 years ago on completion of a Degree in Drawing for Fine Art Practice. She fell in love with the medium and can totally loose herself in the process of creating a sculpture.. All pieces are made using traditional hand tools only, which give her a direct contact to the stone. She loves making Animals, Faces and Abstract pieces with Ripples carved into them inspired by the ripples in the sand. These capture the play of light as the sun moves across the piece. She has recently made some pieces with lettering, relief work and generally having fun experimenting with different types of stone.
Kim is really looking forward to welcoming you to her studio again this year, her large outdoor sculptures will be dotted around the garden and smaller pieces will be on show indoors. She will be more than happy to give you a demonstration when you visit.
Kim is also a member of the Cotswold Sculptors Association exhibiting with them at Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury, Berkeley Castle, the Turrill Garden in Oxford. Also exhibiting at Showborough Affordable Art, Twyning NT, Newark Park and NT Avebury Manor during 2021.
