MOS 'CALL FOR ARTISTS'
ARE YOU AN ARTIST, PRINTMAKER, POTTER, TEXTILE DESIGNER, GLASSMAKER, ILLUSTRATOR, SCULPTOR, PHOTOGRAPHER?
HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF PARTICIPATING IN MARLBOROUGH OPEN STUDIOS?
Marlborough Open Studios is a friendly group welcoming any practising artists and makers in the area which lies within 12.5 miles radius
of Marlborough centre and up to the M4 in the north. The area also includes Devizes, Calne and Hungerford.
A subscription will give you a full listing in this brochure, which has a print run of 9000 and is distributed throughout the region and beyond, giving individual participants and
their work wide publicity, as well as acting as an artists' directory, and the opportunity for inclusion in group 'taster' exhibitions. Accompanying your listing in the brochure
you will have a presence on the MOS website: www.marlboroughopenstudios.com with a link to your own web site and an image of your work.
Outside the Open Studios period of four weekends in July, the scheme mounts exhibitions and co-operates reciprocally with other events running concurrently in the
Marlborough area or nearby. If you think you would like to join us then contact Deborah Husk by email: deborah_husk@msn.com, or by phone 01672 851233 or
07736 120 597 with details and a request for the selection form.
MOS BURSARIES
This scheme enables young artists in the area to participate in Marlborough Open Studios at considerably reduced cost, plus the opportunity of shared studio space and mentoring.
MOS Committee thanks contributing artists for their continued generous support for the scheme. Closing date for applications for 2011 participation is 1st November 2010.
No forms, just an introductory letter with personal contact details, plus CV; samples of work; and an artist's statement, as attachments to deborah_husk@msn.com.
MOS WORKSHOPS
Every year some artists offer workshops and practical sessions to visitors who feel they would like to have a go at any of the art and craft practices they have seen. For the
visitors maybe it is something they've done previously, or something they've always wanted to try but have not previously had the opportunity. We would like therefore to
highlight artists and makers offering workshops/practical sessions in 2011's brochure/directory. So if you are an artist or maker and feel you can offer a course or practical
session over the Open Studios period in 2011, please complete the appropriate section of the application letter that will come to you in October 2010.
IMPORTANT REMINDER!, DEADLINES!
Every year some artists are disappointed because they have applied too late, or missed the deadlines upon which MOS operates to ensure correct information and collation
of material is processed effectively. The deadline for applications is 1st November 2010 for participation in 2011 Open Studios.
